Gorgeous vibrant purple hair sent in by Jacki, here is how she achieved this color:
I love, love the shade of purple you have here. I have really dark brown hair and want something similar. Just curious what brand of lightening kit you used.
I actually just used a frosting kit. I'm pretty sure it was Loreal. You have to be really careful with it though, if you dont put it on even, it won't lighten well and it will be very patchy. So I suggest 2 boxes for hair past your shoulders in length. *****ALSO, you don't necesarily have to bleach your hair. I did for this, but over time, the more times you re dye and put purple over purple. Plus the longer you leave manic panic dye on, the darker the shade comes (on unbleached hair). so I am 100% positive that you could achieve this same shade on unbleached hair by leaving the dye on for 2 hours (don't worry it won't destroy your hair!) and then, a few days later, repeating the process. Hope that helps! :)
The purple shown here stayed this vibrant for about 2 months (washing my hair with color-friendly shampoo helped the color last, along with rinsing with cold water.chilly, but it works!) from that point, it faded a little, but even faded it retained a nice purple hue. I re-did it several times, each time more pleased with the color purple acheived. (the purples became darker)
