So I dyed my hair with Loreal Hi color hilights in red like months ago. And now my dark roots are showing. I want to dye my hair a dark purple color (NOT THAT BLUE PURPLE) but idk how to. I've read that it's best not to put blue dye over it because it will turn blue. What should I do???
It is Dark Burgundy Brown . If your hair is really black, try stripping it. I've done.this.color and i've loved it. Going to do it again:). If its light brown or brown...yeah, it should dye this color. Because it's not black. ANYWAYS, this is one of those best hair colors i've been through !! How do i know? My mom is a stylist for like 20 yrs and im her tester also learnef many mannnyyyyy things. Good luck! Oh! And if put blue black after, it looks freakin amazing too :) bye.
If your hair is dyed a dark colour, you'll have to strip your hair. If you have natural un-dyed hair, stripping will do nothing but you'll have to bleach it (It also needs bleaching for stripped hair aswell) Get your hair to a mucky blonde colour, or lighter. At this stage, you can use any semi permenant purple (Brands include Directions, Crazy Color, Manic Panic, Special effects) If your hair is really really light blonde, you could use the XXL schwarzkopf colour in purple for the same effect but more permenant.
i was wondeing what color your hair was before you dyed it purple? mine is a light aburnish brownish color do you think i would have the same results as you? kuz i loooove ur hair color
When i dyed my hair purple i used schwarzkopf live and it went bright purple from what my hair was medium brown, i didnt have to strip my hair at all. my hairdressers recommended the hair dye so i didnt have to strip it and kill my hair so i tryed it and its the only one i use now ...
did she bleach her hair first, would it look better if i did, cus i still have a dark red in mine?
It's Wella Touch 0/68, you can buy it online from certain websites but you're only supposed to use it in salons not at home.
That colour rocks!! It impresses me much more than any hair colour celebrities wear. Celebrities only tend to wear the boring colours. You're brave dying a wild colour. I admire that type of courage. Wear whatever colour you want in your hair. Screw what the rest of society thinks. At least you look different! That can only be a Good thing :)

If you go on her Tumblr, you'll see that she uses Wella Hair Dye, & you can only get it done in a salon because apparently, that's the only place the company ships dye to. :3
I am able to buy Wella color touch in my local hair supply shop. Do you know exactly which one she uses ?

Just look for Raw hair colors from hottopic.com because Manic Panic sucks to me personally. I like Raw because it stays in longer. You can also mix it with a purple permanent hair dye from Walmart or Hanafords. It'll make it more permanent and the one from walmart/hanafords is a tad darker so you can mix them. If you want a lighter purple, just add conditioner to the mix, or developer.

You might need to strip your hair before hand depending on how dark your hair is- a light brown/dirty blonde perhaps wouldnt need stripping. There are a ton of different brands of this purple- manic panic is good for the vibrant color but it doesnt last very long at all before you will have to redye it. Go to your local beauty supply store (sally's perhaps) and ask them about which brand is best/stays in the longest for this purple. Good thing about purple hair dye is that it takes on almost anyones hair- unlike blue which is hard to achieve a true color of. (in most cases anyway)
