My friend tried to do this on my hair but it didn’t really turn out. I have a darker brown hair color. The green you can barley see. Would I have to bleach the ends? I really don’t want to destroy my hair

Yeah, you’ll have to bleach it. But don’t worry, it’s a lot less drastic than bleaching your whole head. And if your hair hasn’t been dyed before it’s less likely to get damaged. I bleached my whole head of black hair (layers and layers of black dye) and it turned into spaghetti. I left the bleach on too long though. Just try the very tips first and if you don’t like it (i.e. if it’s too dry or you think your hair is ruined) it will be easy to just trim! :)

I am considering doing this to my hair, and your pic is the perfect example of what I am thinking of getting. My hair is darker brown with a red tent, so I know i’ll have to bleach my tips, but how the heck do you get that beautiful blended/gradient effect? seriously. Is there a specific technique to doing that?? I think I might see a professional…lol!
